Martial Eagles easily prey on Vervet monkeys,Impala as seen here and also largely favor monitor lizards in areas where available.With a body weight of over 6 kgs these birds can easily lift or kill an impala and feed.In defense of its prey these birds will spread out their wings so as to look bigger and fend off competition and scavengers.
